In Believers’ Chapel Church, pastor Peters preaches on the podium.
P.Peters: praise the Lord!
P.Peters: Our topic today is steadfastness. Nowadays, converts worship their urges. They claim to be ignorant of the words of God.
Let’s open the book of Matt. 5:27-28.
Reader: It says and I read: Matt. 5:27. “You have heard that it was said to them of old, ‘you shall not commit adultery'”.
28.”But I say unto you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her in his heart”.
P.Peters: This is the portion of the Holy Bible which we always leap. We’re no more in spirit but in flesh. The prayer warriors are now sex warriors.
What should we call this?
Love? Let’s Open 1Corr. 13:4-8.
Reader: Verse 4: “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up”.
Verse. . .(P.Peters interrupts)
P.Peters: Skip to verse 6.
Reader: It says: “Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth”.
P.Peters: You see. Love is not prone to iniquities. Rather, it seeks truth.
My advice to all of us is to filter selfish ambition and conceit out of our selves (PHilippians 2:3). Remember to come to Tuesday class with your five hundred naira for my leave. God bless you.
Along the way from the Church, Bro. Chika, Chima and Sis. Amaka converse.
Chika: Amaka how do you feel about today’s service?
Amaka: My dear, I’m tied of all these adultery preachings and money payment.
Chika: Chima how do you feel?
Chima: I’m in same shoe with Amaka. Must we die because someone preaches for us? Am I not a sunday school worker and preach? Am I paid? Of course no. I hardly feed because I pay one dues to another. This time, offering, others: tithe, leave, sectional levy, sunday school levy, pastor’s care, and many others. The worst is that our pastors drive in Jeeps while I’m unable to fund a bicycle. Yet, they tax me to pay. . .(Amaka cuts in).
Amaka: They even say we should give so that we shall be given: How many days have they given to us. They even criticize our tithe as if
they are God who. . .(Uche intrudes).
Uche: They forget that Matt 7:1-2 says that we should not judge. We pay while they enrich themselves from our sweat.
Chika: We should know that we go to church to worship God and not human beings. God shall judge us according to our deeds. My mother once told me that Priests can hardly make heaven because they lie with the Lord’s name in order to make money.
(Scratches his head) Please, I want to corner this junction. See you next.
Uche: Please I’m not a prayer warrior. So, I want to corner. Bye for now and see you on Tuesday
Chima: Amaka I missed you so much. I enjoyed our previous sex.
Amaka: Chima stop that. The pastor seemed to know what we did. He called us “sex warriors”.
Chima: Forget that thing. Pastor was just preaching blindly. After all, what we did is not a sin: we are from the same church. Matt. 7:12 says that we should do others what we expect them to do for us. I had sexual intercourse with you because I expected you to do the same for me. That we are prayer warriors does not mean we are not human beings. After all Adam and Eve did it.
Amaka: Ok. Chima, I love you more than food. I wish we are not going to part. But for the fact that the way dispersed us, see you next. I love you!
Chima: I love you too (They kiss).
Two months later, Amaka becomes sick and sleeps in her bed
[Mama enters with a piece of paper]
Mama: You see what I have been telling you. The test result I just collected confirms that you are two months pregnant and also HIV positive.
What are you whimpering for. You’re a living-dead nothing else. Who knows who you have infected.
[A knock on the door]
Yes! Come in.
Chima: Amaka so you’re happy now. Eh? You’ve Killed me Amaka. . .(Amaka interrupts).
Amaka: Is that all? So you have forgotten that we are from same church and that it isn’t a sin? Chima, I’m not only HIV positive but also pregnant for you. God punish you dearly.
Mama: It’s ok my children. We must blame for our misfortunes. If not any other thing, the devil is there to be blamed. It’s warning to the sex warriors. If you like, kill yourselves (Leaves).
Amaka: Chima, you have heard my mother. We played wrongly and scored at wrong goal. Go and eat and beg for forgiveness as I also do the same.
In the church, Pastor Peters preaches.
P.Peters: Praise the Lord.
P.Peters: This is the end time. If you love your life, obey God. If not, reverse is the case.
We should not be led astray by money payments. It’s because we pastors have you as our sponsors. Do as God blesses you.
May God guide our ways to our paths.
